Entrepreneurs=Opportunity
Afraid you’re competing with too many entrepreneurs? There’s a silver lining… We’ve talked about possible future ideas for businesses. We’re going to see lots more people start businesses or at least look for side hustles. It’s easy to think, everyone’s doing that and I can’t compete but there’s a plus to so many people suddenly being self employed. I speak from experience when I say we can’t possibly do it all. We need help, even if it’s not on a daily basis, there are times when our time is short or our expertise doesn’t match up to the skill we need to get the job done. That’s where you come…

Life Events Come First
Yesterday I was supposed to write a post. I was also supposed to promote the Check Us Out Sale. Neither of those things got done because it was a case that life events come first and take priority. Yesterday, I had to make the decision every pet owner dreads. My 22 year old tabby cat was giving me every sign that his journey was drawing to a close. I decided on a home visit from a vet was the way to go but they didn’t have an appointment until mid-afternoon. While I didn’t want to see him suffer for longer than necessary, this late appointment gave me a chance to…

Monday Motivation-What Counts is Going Forward
Lots of time we tell ourselves, if only I’d done this or that. If only I chosen a different path or a different career. Everyone has their if only I’d stories. Successful people don’t let these stories hold them back or determine their future. Know that the past is history and remind yourself tomorrow is a new day. The chance to start all over again and set yourself on the right path to whatever your heart desires.

Should Your Business Come Before Your Life?
I have a friend, Angela Wills, who started a services-based business and quit her job to pursue it. Within a few months she was overwhelmed, overworked and just plain burnt out. Angela told me she had actually been sitting at her computer for so many hours per day that her muscles had started to atrophy. It was embarrassing and she knew she needed to change. That was in 2007. Angela stopped working for clients in 2012. She declared total lifestyle freedom at that time! She has spent the last 8 years working entirely on what she wants, for who she wants, where she wants and when she wants. Her whims…

Finding the Right Coach
Coaches…these days, it seems like everyone has either a coach or is a coach. Some people even fit into both categories. When I started writing, I always thought wouldn’t it be great to have someone show me how it’s done. I never found that person and it was one of the reasons I decided to coach aspiring writers. Just about every profession has a coach, writing, art, business, and yes, the life coach. They’re popping up everywhere and you might even be thinking about hiring one. Here are some of my tips for finding the perfect match for your needs- What’s Their Background? I’m seeing more people hang out their…

Opening an Online Store
Thinking about opening an online store? The great thing about the Internet is it not only makes buying more convenient, it makes selling items a breeze. Years ago, if you wanted to open a store you had to find a brick and mortar building to lease or buy, and then remodel, stock it…yeah, a pain in the you know what. Now with the click of a mouse, you can open your store for not only local people to visit, but the world too. I’m making it all sound, easy, wonderful, yes, rose colored glasses sort of thing, but this ease actually becomes it’s downside. Yes, everyone in the world can…

Monday Motivation-Build Your Dream
They say when you work for someone else you’re helping them live their dream and not your own. This week, think about what type of business you can launch. Could it be one that starts out as a side gig or something you do for a few hours every night when you come home from the job you’ll leave when you become your own boss? This week, let’s dream BIG.
