    Life Events Come First

Yesterday I was supposed to write a post. I was also supposed to promote the Check Us Out Sale. Neither of those things got done because it was a case that life events come first and take priority. Yesterday, I had to make the decision every pet owner dreads. My 22 year old tabby cat was giving me every sign that his journey was drawing to a close. I decided on a home visit from a vet was the way to go but they didn’t have an appointment until mid-afternoon. While I didn’t want to see him suffer for longer than necessary, this late appointment gave me a chance to…

Friday Ramblings-Everyday Stuff Gets in the Way

Sorry I haven’t posted much this week but it’s been errands and keeping busy with writing and teaching. I’m guessing those of you who are content creators know that some days, there’s not enough energy left to even write a short post. Tuesday and Thursday felt like that for me. Hopefully, I’ll get back on track next week. There are some sales and bundle giveaways coming up too. I love working with my fellow entrepreneurs and I’m often in awe of the products they produce (sometimes week after week). I’m making progress with my new book, still on course for a late November release date. I’m also rethinking the new…

Monday Motivation-What Counts is Going Forward

Lots of time we tell ourselves, if only I’d done this or that. If only I chosen a different path or a different career. Everyone has their if only I’d stories. Successful people don’t let these stories hold them back or determine their future. Know that the past is history and remind yourself tomorrow is a new day. The chance to start all over again and set yourself on the right path to whatever your heart desires.

I’d like to introduce you to a fellow entrepreneur who just launched a new business. Please say hello to Maria Silvo. Should Your Business Come Before Your Life?

I have a friend, Angela Wills, who started a services-based business and quit her job to pursue it. Within a few months she was overwhelmed, overworked and just plain burnt out. Angela told me she had actually been sitting at her computer for so many hours per day that her muscles had started to atrophy. It was embarrassing and she knew she needed to change. That was in 2007. Angela stopped working for clients in 2012. She declared total lifestyle freedom at that time! She has spent the last 8 years working entirely on what she wants, for who she wants, where she wants and when she wants. Her whims…

    Friday Ramblings-Free Book Covers

I’m using my ‘outside office’ to write this. Outside office translates into deck. I’m making the most of the just right temperature before tomorrow when there’s a heat advisory. High heat combined with humidity isn’t my thing so I make the most of the great outdoors while I can. It’s been a week of doing this and doing that. I’m taking part in a few more upcoming bundle giveaways, so I’ve been planning out those. I’m also close to finishing a new product for the BSG store. I’ll give you a hint, it’s for bloggers. I just signed up to become an affiliate for Maria Silvo’s newly created site Artsy…

Friday Ramblings-All Work and No Play

I t’s a holiday weekend which means it’s time to take a rest. When you work for yourself it’s all too easy to watch others go play while you’re stuck in front of a computer screen. Even waving to everyone splashing around in the water while you balance a laptop on your knees. I’m a self confessed workalcoholic and sometimes that leads to burnout when you actually become less productive. So, let’s use this holiday weekend, to relax. Learn to take a step back from work and promise yourself you’ll do it at least once a month. I promise you you’ll feel better and more focused when you get back…

    Finding the Right Coach

Coaches…these days, it seems like everyone has either a coach or is a coach. Some people even fit into both categories. When I started writing, I always thought wouldn’t it be great to have someone show me how it’s done. I never found that person and it was one of the reasons I decided to coach aspiring writers. Just about every profession has a coach, writing, art, business, and yes, the life coach. They’re popping up everywhere and you might even be thinking about hiring one. Here are some of my tips for finding the perfect match for your needs- What’s Their Background? I’m seeing more people hang out their…
