Friday Ramblings-A Month of Full Blogging
It’s the last day of the month and, yay, the blog’s up and running again. I said I’d be honest with you. Some days have been tough, thinking of something to write or even wanting to write. If you’re thinking about blogging and have other pursuits, especially those that require you to write, be warned, it’s not easy. I’m happy to say traffic is up a little and the e-mail list has grown just a tad. (More about these topics coming up soon). I still have to figure out how the free giveaway I’m offering for signing up can be downloaded…told you it’s the tech side that’s my Achilles’ heel.…

An Entrepreneur’s Journey
This week, I’ve been creating the lessons for the how to promote your book boot camp I’m teaching in March. Today, I worked on a lesson on social media and realized that I hadn’t worked in public relations for twenty years. Twenty years, I thought, had it been that long? It’s what actually gave me the topic idea for this post. It was back in 2000, yes, the beginning of the new century that I decided to venture out on my own. It wasn’t something I’d intended to do. I’d been working for a publishing company as a publicist. During my third year there, I got a sense that things…

Fourth Tuesday-Other Ways to Make Money
January has flown by, well at least I think so. Here we are at the final Tuesday of the month and the last of the previews of what’s going to be happening each week here at BSG. I thought we’d set aside the last Tuesday for other ways you can make money. Not things that net you huge amounts, but maybe rebates and discounts that you get for buying stuff you already do anyway, and use it to add to your pot of gold. There are lots of options out there but one thing that does stop me from signing up for lots of them is, that they seem like…

Monday Motivation-What You Share with the World
What better way to start this week than a quote by the wonderful Marie Forleo. Here she reminds us that we all have a special gift to share with the world. This week think about yours and how you can put it to good use.

Friday Ramblings-Learning As You Go
Seems like forever that I’ve been working for myself but one thing remains a constant. You never stop learning. In fact, you should never stop learning. One of my biggest hurdles is anything tech related. Yes, even getting this site and all the plugins to work how they’re supposed to. I struggle, I sometimes swear, and I only wish I figure it all out first time around. Over the holidays, I did manage to get the Popup Builder to work. However, do you think I get it to work on my freelance site? Not sure what I’m doing differently but it’s a learning process and I’ll keep at it. I…

The Key to Making Money
If there’s one sure way to making money, it’s to be future thinking. This week, I’ve been following along with e-mails I receive from lots of entrepreneurs whose classes I’ve taken or products I’ve bought. One in particular (I’m hoping he’ll do an interview with BSG), is always upfront about what’s working and what’s not. His latest post was about how much money he made in 2019. He hadn’t done as well in certain areas as he had in 2018. The reason, he pointed out, was because his market is such that it’s low cost to get started in, and just about anyone with a laptop can do it. Great…

Tuesday-Side Gigs
Side gigs, side hustles, those jobs that used to be called moonlighting. We’ve all had them. Lots of people now have not one but two of them. The best thing is lots of them can be done from home, on a laptop, any time of the day. Some people even make their living working side gigs. Part-time or full time, they’re a great way to make some extra money, learning a new skill or just moonlight to boost your savings. With that in mind, each third Tuesday in each month is going to be dedicated to them. I’ll be posting information about some well known ones and some not so…

Monday Motivation-Keep Your Dream
Each of us has a dream that’s unique. What’s yours? Think about it often. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be achieved. The one and only thing that can prevent you from living your dream is you.

Friday Ramblings-Be Your Own Subscriber
Another workweek slowly draws to a close. Did you achieve everything on this week’s to do list? I switched gears somewhat and began formatting the next two books I get rights back to. I also made covers for them. I’m trying out a new method of what some people call batch working. Instead of doing one task for many projects, you get everything done on just one and in one shot. I’ll let you if I think you should give it a try or not. One thing I’ve been doing to save time (and to make sure I don’t forget to make a post). is to use the scheduling feature…

Business Talk Thursday-Let’s Focus On Why
The difference between success and failure is often due to lack of motivation. When things get hard like when you’re freelancing, running a business, or just simply trying to make some extra money, it’s often lack of knowing your true why that puts an end to your plan. Get a sheet of paper and write down why you want to pursue whatever it is you dream about. Are you saving to buy your first home? A comfortable retirement? An early retirement? The once in a lifetime trip around the world? Living the life you love is different for each of us so simply writing down I want to make more…
