Are You Ready for a Challenge?
Do you like a challenge? How about a 31 day challenge? I’m currently creating a money makeover course that will be uploaded to BSG. While I’ve been working on it, I thought why not do a 31 day challenge. So during the month of March, I’ll be posting a different money related challenge right here at BSG. In the meantime, is there anything you’d like to see during the challenge? Struggling with some aspect of your budget? Having trouble finding money to put toward the rainy day fund? Let me know by leaving a comment or you can contact me at budgetsmartqueries@gmail.com.

It’s almost the end of April. Two months since the February Money Mindset Makeover Challenge. Did you follow along? Did you set yourself some goals? In June, we’ll do a three month check in to gauge how well we’ve done but as we move into that third month after the conclusion of the challenge, let’s do a mini review. Did you work on figuring out your assets and liablities? Figure out what some of your budget downfalls are? Look at ways to shave costs off your monthly expenses? Explore ways to bring in extra income? Is there anything you’re struggling with? If so, what resources do you need to access…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 23-Five Tips for Saving Money
We’re in the homestretch of this money challenge. Last week we focused on ways to make money and in this final week, it’s all about saving money. Yes, the reason I started this site way back in 2005. A lot has changed but saving money is more important than ever before. Whenever I was interviewed, one question I always got asked was do you have any money saving tips to share? Here are five of my favorites- Don’t Believe the Words Discount, Sale… Just because a company or store says something is on sale or deeply discounted, don’t take their word for it. Always check yourself. These days it’s easier…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 16-Five Platforms for Potential Side Gigs
We’re in the home stretch for our February Money Mindset Makeover. How are you doing? So far we’ve looked at net worth, money that flows into our accounts each month, and money that goes out. We also figured out things that can be cut from our budgets and finally thought about putting our talents and skills to good use by starting a business or engaging in some side gigs. This week, it’s all about resources to help you decide on the perfect side gig. And remember that a side gig or a bunch of side gigs might eventually turn into a business, whether it be part or full time. Today,…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 11-What Makes You Break Your Budget?
How did you do with yesterday’s challenge? Did you figure out what triggers you to break your budget? A few years ago, I realized e-mails from certain companies always tempted me to make a purchase. They always convinced me it was something I really needed at this very point in my life. Many of us are entrepreneurs ourselves who need mailing lists so I’m in no way saying what they’re doing is wrong. We all need to persuade and sell things but be aware of how many you receive per day and how often you’re buying things. And be aware it could be items and services you wouldn’t have gone…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 6-What’s Your Passion?
The first week of the challenge is almost over. So far we’ve looked at net worth, assets and liabilities, what money comes in and what money goes out each month. Yesterday, we talked about looking at the goods and services on the minus side of the equation but today we’re going to look at the other side of the coin. Ways you can make that amount larger than your outgoing expenditure. Cutting expenses is one way to do it but we all get to the point where we’ve cut back as much as we can so that’s where trying to make more money to increase that plus side comes into…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge Day 5-Do You Really Need It?
Do you really need it? That’s the question we’re asking ourselves on day 5 of our month long challenge. We’ve looked at net worth, assets and liabilities. We also looked at monthly income and what’s being spent each month. Just doing these things can be either a surprise or a shock. Either way we all have things on our items on things I spend money on list that can be overhauled or better yet, eliminated. Look through the list and be brutally honest with yourself. Are there some things or services that can be cut? Cable TV…how many channels do you actually watch? Gym memberships…when was the last time you…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 4-Income and Expenses
Yesterday we focused on net worth and today we’re going to break down income and expenses on a monthly basis. Income Under the first column, write down all your income for the month It could be money from your job, side gig, interest earned, rental income… Next, focus on expenses. Write down what you pay out each month It could be mortgage, insurance, car payment, utility bills, gas for the car, groceries. Don’t overlook anything. You might also have yearly fees for things like membership sites so take that amount and divide it by 12. Total up each column. Is there a negative number or a plus? I know lots…

Ready to get a new money mindset? February is usually all about romance, hearts, chocolate and flowers, but seems like this year it’s going to be about money. Not only am I having a money makeover challenge here at BSG, but Angela Wills is too. First about the BSG challenge which is free to you.
