    Goal Setting in Quarters

Getting everything you want to achieve, done, can be overwhelming. I often take on more than I can achieve and end up getting more frustrated. This year, I’ve switching things up a little and I think it’s working. I thought I’d share it with you just in case you want to give it a try. This can work for just about any goal, be it making money, saving money or just one goal, like exercising more. I’ve started to divide goals by quarters. 1st quarter (Jan, Feb, March), etc. I use an overall statement at the top of the page, sort of like the ones you use in a business…

    How Prepared Are You?

If your computer crashed or a platform you sell on went out of business, are you prepared? If 2020 taught us anything it was that everything can change and change quickly. Have you given any thought to what would happen if the platform you sell your products on or the company that hosts your web site suddenly goes out of business, what you’ll do. Panic shouldn’t be the first word that comes to mind. My late father always told me to have a back up plan for everything in life. I’ve done my best to follow his advice but sometimes we get busy and sometimes we don’t see things coming…

    Hold Yourself Accountable

Last week we focused on staying motivated and finding an accountability partner. In today’s post, I’d like to tell you about something I’ve been doing to hold myself accountable. Yes, I’ve had accountability partners in the past. It’s my preferable way to go but sometimes it takes time finding one that’s a great match. I tried this alternative way last year, and so far, so good. At the beginning of each week, I take a sheet of paper and write down what I want to achieve in the next five days. I leave space between each one…I’ll tell you why in a minute. Fold the paper in half or thirds…

    Future Thinking Entrepreneurs

What will the world look like in six months, one year, two years? What will people be doing, what will they be needing? It’s during uncertain times that we all need to think ahead and plan for your financial future. I’ve always said smart people don’t think about today, they think way into the future and prepare for the what ifs life always throws at us. As we head into April, let’s sit and think about what’s going to change. Here are a few things I came up with- Digital Future I’m seeing lots of articles about people not wanting to handle things like cash and paper. I think that…

    Friday Ramblings-Hello March

One week into March. It’s been a busy one but there are signs of spring in the air. One thing I love to do is take my work outside on the first warm day. One of the perks of running your own business and living the life you desire. How about you? What is your favorite thing about spring? I mentioned I began looking at RVs, well, small motorhomes to be exact. I’ve visited lots of web sites and one thing that struck me is how great some are and some just don’t want you to stick around. I’m not talking about fancy graphics and sites that have been put…

Make Money From Your Site…not someone else’s

Should you sell your products and services on someone else site? Less than a year ago, I would have told you, yes, but now I’m thinking the smartest entrepreneur puts their wares on their own site first, builds up traffic, grows the mailing list and then and only then, thinks about other people’s sites. Take e-books for example. Five years ago, I would never have thought about trying to sell any of my books on my own writing site. Okay, call me a lazy writer, but online stores like Amazon were bringing me in sales so I didn’t see the point of spending more time building a store. Even some…
