Goal Setting in Quarters
Getting everything you want to achieve, done, can be overwhelming. I often take on more than I can achieve and end up getting more frustrated. This year, I’ve switching things up a little and I think it’s working. I thought I’d share it with you just in case you want to give it a try. This can work for just about any goal, be it making money, saving money or just one goal, like exercising more. I’ve started to divide goals by quarters. 1st quarter (Jan, Feb, March), etc. I use an overall statement at the top of the page, sort of like the ones you use in a business…

Money Mindset Makeover Challenge-Day 28-Setting Goals
We’re at the end of our 28 day Money Mindset Makeover Challenge. How did you do? Did you follow along with all 28 days? If you did, congratulations. We’ll be revisiting the challenge in June by doing a three month check in where you can access how well you’ve done and what you achieved and what you didn’t. So, for this last day, write down your goals for March, April and May. What do you want to achieve? What do you need to work on? Is it the saving side or the making money side of the equation? Are you going to even set an actual dollar amount…for example, I…

Hold Yourself Accountable
Last week we focused on staying motivated and finding an accountability partner. In today’s post, I’d like to tell you about something I’ve been doing to hold myself accountable. Yes, I’ve had accountability partners in the past. It’s my preferable way to go but sometimes it takes time finding one that’s a great match. I tried this alternative way last year, and so far, so good. At the beginning of each week, I take a sheet of paper and write down what I want to achieve in the next five days. I leave space between each one…I’ll tell you why in a minute. Fold the paper in half or thirds…

Setting Goals and Planning
It’s December, did you achieve all you set out to do this year? 2020 has been a strange year. If it’s taught us one thing, it’s about planning and then if those plans don’t work out, having a back up one. Whether it be connected with your money and budget, or even looking for another way to make a living, planning and thinking ahead is more important than every before. I’ve decided to make that the focus of Budget Smart Girl as we move into 2021. Ways to plan, set goals and have lots of alternative things you can turn to if the unexpected happens. In Thursday’s post, I’ll be…

Monday Motiviaton-Opportunity is Everywhere
Sometimes we don’t take that first step because we’re scared. Scared of failing, scared of making a mistake, scared of what others might think if we get it all wrong. This week be brave enough to take that first step.

Planning and Brainstorming
Just a quick post this week about what I’ve been doing with regards to Budget Smart Girl. I’ve had a couple of days of brainstorming ideas. Thoughts about the direction this site will take in 2020 and what things I want to tackle. I think you’re going to like what I’ve come up with. I’ve decided that one day of each week will be devoted to some way you can make money or earn some extra cash. I also want to share real life stories of people running businesses and have a long list of people I want to interview to share their ideas and tips. (If you know anyone…
