February Challenge and Best Buys
It’s February, a month with just 28 days so make each one count.
Today, we’re starting our annual February Budget Smart Girl Challenge. This year, it’s buying only things that are on sale. Remember don’t buy anything you don’t really need just because it has a sale tag on it. Things on sale can include, clothes, electronics, and yes, definitely food. We’ll do a check in on February 15th and then again on March 1st.

So, what is usually on sale in February?
Did you know that February is both National Canned Food Month and National Hot Breakfast Month? What a great time to stock up on some pantry supplies, like canned beans, tomatoes and vegetables. How about buying some oatmeal or pancake mixes?
In the produce section, check out cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, leeks and citrus fruits.
Check out all the final winter sales for things like clothing and snow clearing equipment.
Wait until after Valentine’s day to stock up on chocolate that you can use in cooking throughout the rest of the year. Also red items can be used for Christmas.
Have a money saving February.
