    What’s happening in the world reminds me of the old saying about not putting all your eggs into one basket. I work in the creative field and every day I’m hearing about people losing contracts, clients canceling projects, and people generally not knowing how they’re going to make it through the months ahead. Proactive measures are always better than reactive ones so now is the time to think about businesses that are sort of polar opposites of one another.     Making money on your blog…why would there be any other reason to have one, right? When I started Budget Smart Girl (and also my writing blog), making money was actually the last thing on my mind. I wanted to share my knowledge, offer advice and yes, hopefully entertain my audience too.     Hope you’re all safe and well as these difficult times continue. I’ve had a week’s break from teaching and it looks like my synopsis boot camp class might need to be canceled due to low enrollment. Even the other class on self publishing doesn’t have the usual amount and it’s normally a popular topic. I thought this might happen as people are going to be watching their budgets.
