It’s Friday which means this will be the spot for my weekly Ramblings. I’ve been doing a similar feature over on This Writer’s Life for about three years and it’s where I share what I did, things that got achieved and plans that might be on the horizon.
I have to say I’m more than relieved that it’s Friday. Seems like this first week of 2020 has been busy with a capital B. A plotting boot camp started on Monday, I had lots of people e-mail me about coaching them which is usually the norm during January. It’s that turn of the old year into the new that has us thinking about resolutions and what we’d like to actually tackle. I also worked and finished the workbook for a boot camp I’m teaching next month. I also reformatted, edited and re-published a back title. I blogged everyday at This Writer’s Life and also here at BSG. I’m making myself tired just thinking about the week that’s almost history.
One thing I’ve promised myself I’d do this year is take more downtime, especially during the 5 – 7 p.m. time slot. I’ve been in the habit of working until 7 p.m. every day but no more. I now quit around 5.30 p.m. and watch an art class while I do my own art work or while I’m watching something on Netflix. There’s something fun and relaxing about sketching, doodling, painting and who knows one day I might have the courage to load some of these ‘masterpieces’ onto my Etsy store.
I’m pleased with my progress this week and I’m happier that I have forced myself to quit working earlier in the day.
How about you, how did your first week of 2020 work out? Leave a comment and share your victories and even failures…maybe there’s someone in the BSG community who can help turn them into a success.
Until Monday, remember to live the life you love.
