Here’s Georgine’s final post of the year-
It’s the last month of the year, and the busiest! To help you save during this expensive time here is what you can look for to be on sale in the stores you shop:
You can get some great prices on an outgoing computer model. If you don’t need all the latest bells and whistles you can get a great price on a speedy, technology-current computer for at least 40% off the regular price.
Cookware always pops up as a favorite gift. You’ll find everything from platters, casserole dishes, and small appliances at lowered priced ready to be wrapped and given.
Are you in the market for a newer car? Dealerships still have end-of-the-year quotas to meet during their slow time of the year, so you won’t have to haggle too much to get a great price.
Toys!! Of course there will be to sales to help Santa deliver. Buy the desired toy when you see it, but save your receipt because if the price should be lowered or you see the same toy at a competing store, depending on your store’s policy, you may be able to get a price adjustment. This goes for other items too, but toys seem to have the most fluctuation in price.
House shopping? Typically real estate agents and sellers are desperate for traffic during this time of year because buyers are preoccupied with the holidays. It’s a great time to negotiate a deal.
In the supermarket combine your coupons (don’t forget online sources like Coupons.com to save on ham, cheese, baking supplies, dough and pie crusts, frozen pies, rolls, cake and frosting mixes, spices, nuts, oatmeal, and dried fruit.
Wal-Mart has a Savings Catcher Program. You register once and then whenever you shop at Wal-Mart you enter your cash register receipt code within 7 days of purchase online. That’s all YOU do. Wal-Mart does the rest They will compare the items you purchased against the prices of the same ones at competing stores in the area. If they find a lower price you will be issued an e-gift card for the difference amount. These amounts add up until you are ready to redeem them. You can’t lose with this program.
The day after Christmas and Hanukkah look for decor to be reduced as much as 50%. You can save these until next year. Remember, solid color paper goods can be used all year long.
