The shortest month, February, seems to have the most going on. The Super Bowl, Ground Hog Day, Valentine’s Day, and President’s Day. That means LOTS of sales, Your best bets for bargains are last year’s models of electronics such as MP3 players, cameras, and DVD players. You can expect to save up to 30% on cameras. Of course, love is in the air so chocolates and fragrances will cost less during Valentine’s Day promotions if you buy before and after the 14th (don’t buy on the 13th or 14th when prices might be the highest). Tulips will get you the most for your money.
If you have an air conditioner or lawn mower that needs servicing, now is the time. Shops are slow so they are looking for work and will give your job some extra attention. Look for outdoor grills too. You may snag a great deal and find a better selection. When summer BBQ time rolls around you will be glad you shopped in advance.
Winter coats are reduced as much as 50% to make way for the light spring frocks and swimwear so keep your eyes wide opened when passing the racks. Even if you store these warm duds until next year it’s a great time to get a bargain.
President’s Day weekend is a great time to shop for a new car. There will also be great lease deals; lots with no money down.
If you are planning a wedding, now is a good time to negotiate prices. Due the unpredictability of winter weather fewer weddings are booked so photographers and bands have less work and will be more willing to work with you. The exception being Valentine’s Day. Unless your heart (no pun intended) is set on that date, you will probably pay top dollar.
Many stores accept coupons shown on your Smartphone. By this I mean restaurants, department stores, big box stores, electronics and appliance stores, and such. Some supermarkets are joining this trend, but are new at it. The bottom line is that you don’t have to print, cut, or carry these types of coupons with you. They are all stored in your email on your phone ready to be shown.
In the grocery store you’ll find good prices on oatmeal. If you can wait until after Valentine’s Day (2-14) you will get delicious steak and seafood at much lower prices. The leftover candy will be reduced as much as 50% too. As I’ve said before, it doesn’t matter what color the wrapper is, it’s the same candy inside and can be enjoyed for months.
When shopping online always look for coupon codes to save you money or get you FREE shipping.
